Why didn’t He just provide the Ram in the thicket? He did it for Abraham!
We’ve all been in that place where we prayed endlessly, and it seemed like nothing changed. Like God wasn’t even looking our way. There are those tears that hail from the pits of our stomach making it impossible to breath, yet, there’s little comfort we get from God. Or so it seems. 2nd Corinthians 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction…” Verse 5 continues “For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too”.
I’ve been there, and in those moments i knew the best i could do was continue to cry to get through the pain. I knew I had to leave the couch I’d been crouched in and make a decision that will help in the situation and not make it worse. Sometimes in those moments i gave in to hopelessness only to start the process all over again. The process of growing and healing and learning how to live in a broken world with broken people. Learn how to handle similar situations because they are plenty. If I could rephrase Priscilla Shirer’s words, “as long as we are alive we don’t have to go looking for trouble, it will find us”. I recently watched The Great Wall movie and saw how war was prepared for. It was a fight of death, to kill or be killed. The bible instructs us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. He’s got plenty. Oh, and the devil doesn’t play fair. The symbolism of the “sword of the spirit – which is the word of God” clearly indicates the kind of war we are in. Brace for heavy battles. He only has three objectives – steal, kill & destroy. On the brighter side pain makes us stronger, and strength is the only option we have.
The best we can do in our difficult situations is to stop figuring things out.
I hope this video from Joyce Meyer blesses you. It wrecked me in a beautiful way. God has already provided the Ram in the thicket for every situation you will ever be in. Whether you get a breakthrough or not, whether you feel Him in your moment of despair or not. He already gave His only son Jesus Christ and as Christians striving for a heavenly perspective of this world and what it represents, Christ is enough. This is what He promises in Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain…”
